Wärtsilä IM Data and Analytics is looking for a Trainee to join the Advanced Analytics service, and our team of data scientists and data analysts. Our service provides consultancy and capabilities to analyse, develop and run Machine Learning based solutions. We utilise DevOps practices and cloud computing, which allow us rapid delivery with quality, reusability and automation.

The Data and Analytics team is recognised as a catalyst for Wärtsilä in the journey to become a data driven enterprise. The team is responsible for the total lifecycle management of data warehousing systems, advanced analytics.

This position is located in Helsinki, Finland. The position is temporary trainee position for 6 months.

Responsibilities

– Participate in development and operation of advanced analytics and ML based solutions
– Build data pipelines, data stores and APIs
– Requirements specifications together with the team and business stakeholders
– Manage the documentation in own responsibility area

Requirements

– Knowledge of software engineering and programming (preferably Python)
– Knowledge of DevOps methods & tools (e.g. git, CI/CD pipelines)
– Knowledge of cloud computing services, such as AWS and Azure (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Serverless)
– knowledge of data modelling and database technologies (Relational DB and NoSQL)
– Knowledge of applied analytics and machine learning methods
– Customer orientation
– Fluent in marketing and selling ideas and solutions to the stakeholders
– Very good in documentation and presentation skills
– Good collaboration and change management skills
– Proactive, development-minded, independent and goal-focused attitude to work
– Fluent written and spoken English
