We provide mentoring also in English!
Suomen Mentorit kickstarted the first mentoring programme in English in autumn 2020 and the second in November 2021. Our third programme starts in November 2022.
We believe that mentoring can support young talents in the integration into the Finnish job market through in-depth discussions with an experienced expert or a person with a leading position in Finnish working life. We warmly welcome international mentees and mentors from all fields to join our community!
Our mentees are young people under the age of 36 with a degree in higher education. Most of our mentees are aiming to find their first job matching their education. They also hope to widen their professional networks through the mentoring programme.
Our mentors are volunteers with a long history in working life. Almost every third of our Finnish-speaking mentors are willing to support educated international talents also in English by helping to find their path in Finland.
Our Code of Conduct
Every mentor and mentee has an effect through their actions on what kind of an organisation Suomen Mentorit is. That is why each and every one of us is collectively responsible for the ethics in our mentoring programmes. Ethics is reflected in our daily actions and choices: how responsibly we carry out our tasks and communicate with other people, and how we take care that our actions are on a par with our principles.
Let’s Work (Tehdään Töitä in Finnish) is a trainee campaign executed in co-operation with Suomen Mentorit and Finnish organisations. The campaign aims to support young talents at the beginning of their careers by providing valuable work experience and professional networks through traineeships with a competitive salary. Through the campaign, we also aim to encourage organizations to hire freshly graduated talents to build a responsible and modern working life.
In 2022 we are partnering with Wärtsilä, an innovative technology company known for being a forerunner in the Marine and Energy markets.
