Wärtsilä Shared Service Center (WSSC) supports the Wärtsilä companies in financial accounting and other operational tasks and acts as a gatekeeper to ensure compliance. WSSC is striving for harmonized one global Wärtsilä way of working worldwide with high quality, timely, effective and efficient processes. WSSC is sharing best practices and knowledge with focus on continuous development and operational excellence.
The WSSC Period End Closing team is now looking for a trainee in financial accounting. The position is temporary trainee position for 6 months. Trainee period starts during March-April, according to the trainee’s availability. The position is located in Vaasa.
Responsibilities
– General ledger postings and period end closing adjustments for Wärtsilä companies all around the world
– Monitoring of automated closing jobs in SAP and Runbook
– Analysing general ledger account balances and clearings
– Checking of accounting documents made by robot
– Participate in follow-up of implementation and usage of best practices and harmonized way of working globally
– Acting as one of the global key users for the general ledger postings and period end closing in SAP and Runbook, assisting and training end-users

Requirements
We are looking for a person who has studied financial accounting or audit as major subject, and who is planning to work with financial accounting and reporting processes in the future and who is interested to learn more about global accounting, IFRS, differences between IFRS and local accounting rules, VAT taxes and the automation and robotizing of the financial accounting processes in a global environment.
We also expect:
– Positive attitude and pro-active thinking, interest in process optimization, fast learner and good team worker
– Flexibility and excellent communication skills
– Self-driven, systematic and organised way of working
– Customer service attitude
– Fluency in English. Other languages are seen as an advantage
– Advanced IT skills (e.g. Office tools) are seen as an advantage
